Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater

You will have a meet-up with a professional English-speaking driver guide at a hotel in Arusha, who will brief you on the exciting days ahead. From Arusha, the journey to the Ngorongoro Crater takes about 3.5 hours for approximately 190 km. Along the way, you will pass through villages and have the chance to observe the local Maasai people going about their daily lives, offering a glimpse into the culture in this part of Tanzania. Upon arrival at Ngorongoro Crater, you will check into a lodge and have lunch. After lunch, you will relax at the lodge.

In the afternoon, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is a unique ecosystem, hosting a variety of animals in an area of only 260 square kilometres. With the assistance of your guide, you will spot the “Big Five”: lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos and buffalo. It’s also possible to see cheetahs, wildebeest, gazelles, zebras and many more. Birdwatchers will also be able to spot a wide variety of species, including flamingos, ostriches, eagles and many more. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for a relaxing evening, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer from Ngorongoro Crater to Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and depart for Tarangire National Park, which is located about 2.5 to 3 hours from Ngorongoro Crater. Upon arrival at Tarangire, you will be welcomed by the park’s iconic baobab trees and its diverse habitats, including riverine forests, savannah, and wetlands.

After lunch at your lodge, you will head out for an afternoon game drive. The afternoon game drive will last for 3 to 4 hours. You will be able to spot elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, impalas, zebras, cheetahs, lions and many more. The park is home to one of the largest concentrations of elephants in Tanzania. After the game drive, you will get back to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
